The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here . In the report yesterday we mentioned rain/sleet/wet snow. Well, none of those apparently happened as we are all dry this morning. It is a cloudy morning in Yuzawa. At the moment around +4 degrees in town and it isn't forecast to warm up so much today. Once again the forecast tells us a chance of rain/sleet/snow today but perhaps there's more chance of it happening this time. A nice new layer of snowfall would be very nice. Today and tomorrow to remain fairly cold, with warmer conditions due to return from Wednesday. The '3 mountain' joint ticket and connection for Yuzawa Kogen, Gala Yuzawa and Ishiuchi Maruyama is now closed for the season. At resorts around town as well there are various spring ski discount lift tickets on offer, varying by resort so good to check with each one. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here . There are some nice blue skies over Yuzawa and the Minamiuonuma valley this morning. Wispy white clouds as well - and more appearing as the morning has moved on - but the sun is out and it's a nice warm, spring morning. Spring conditions out there, the snow is pretty heavy (on the ground, not falling!) and sticky and some people who suffer from hayfever can be seen battling the pollen! It is about 10 degrees now. Tomorrow will be cloudier and a bit cooler. Later on in the evening we might see rain/sleet/wet snow into Tuesday. It's still a bit wet but hopefully things are going to quickly clear up this morning. Not the best start to the weekend and wasn't quite expecting it. Right now it's 2 degrees and there's a light wind. Tomorrow will be warmer and clear and sunny conditions are forecast. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here . Yesterday the snow was falling during the morning but eased off and by early afternoon it has started to clear up - ended up a fine sunny afternoon. Cold last night down to -5C and it is a cold start to the day today as well, though it is warming up fast with a high of around 10 degrees likely today. Only a slight wind and clear skies. The sun is out and it's a great day to be outside. Tomorrow is not going to warm up as much and the local forecast is for generally cloudy conditions. If you want sun over the weekend, Sunday is the better bet. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here . Yesterday evening was nice and clear until later on when it started to rain heavily. But the brilliant news this morning is that it is snowing and there's over 5cm of fresh snow in Yuzawa and up to 10cm on the slopes. It's still snowing - and actually coming down quite nicely at the moment - so while it's forecast to not last long, we can just hope for as much as possible before then! Great to see snow falling again though and the accompanying colder temperatures. So yes the forecast says this afternoon it'll just be cloudy, but it will stay fairly cold all day. Right now it's around 0 degrees. Forecast for tomorrow is clear and sunny conditions and temps to rise up back to around 10 degrees in the daytime, so let's enjoy this return of winter while it lasts! Oh yes, strong winds are preventing the Tashiro part of Kagura from opening today. So limited operations at Kagura. Other resorts seem unaffected and open as normal. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here . 10 degrees this morning at 10am on another warm and very spring like morning in Yuzawa. It's a generally fine morning with overcast-looking blue skies over Yuzawa, more cloudy to the north in Minamiuonuma. We're actually hoping that we might get a bit of snow overnight tonight into tomorrow as things still forecast to get colder for a short while. Looking forward to hopefully bringing you that news tomorrow morning. Slopes around town busier than usual for a Wednesday as today is a national holiday, but generally it doesn't look 'crowded' out there at all. By the way, some kind of face mask is recommended for those of you suffering from hayfever at the moment! It did rain yesterday and unfortunately it has been raining early this morning as well, though it looks like it will ease off and leave us with a fine day, perhaps sunny. Not much of a wind as well this morning which is a contrast to the gusty conditions we had yesterday. Lots of cloud around and upper areas covered in cloud. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here . Good morning from a cloudy and rather windy Yuzawa. So much so that some resorts are going to be closed today due to the wind conditions -- all of Kagura is closed and GALA Yuzawa also. The upper parts of Naeba are closed early on and Yuzawa Kogen may also be affected. Looks like the Gondola at Maiko Snow Resort is also resting this morning, but the quad up to the bowl seems to be open. It's already close to 10C here in town and likely to warm up to around 16 degrees today. Winter is seeming further and further away, and unfortunately there doesn't seem much chance of a late March blast of winter - not for the moment on the weekly forecast anyway. Late March snow has been known to happen though.... (he says hoping). We do still have a lot of snow around, there's no bare patches and many resorts are reporting 2+m still. Anyway, possibly rain later today but hopefully by tomorrow morning conditions will have calmed down. Clouds arrived yesterday in the afternoon after that clear start, and by evening it was raining and there was some strong noisy wind blowing about outside. Quite hard at times. No new snow to report - dustings up top though I hear - and I am glad to say that the drama from the last part of yesterday has cleared up and we start today with more sunny, blue skies. Tomorrow will be more cloudy and a good chance of rain later in the day. It's the last day for nighta at Ishiuchi Maruyama. That resort also intends to be open (daytimes) until Sunday 7th April. We'll bring you the planned closing dates of resorts soon.... It didn't get as cold overnight last night as the previous night, but the day has started much the same with the sun out and shining down on us. There's a bit more cloud around, especially in the Minamiuonuma valley just to the north, but generally clear blue skies. Another spring ski day. A chance of clouding over rain/sleet/snow late today, but tomorrow the forecast is for another day of sun. A little further ahead, rain seems inevitable on Monday. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here . Very light snow on and off in the morning yesterday though easing off later on. It got really cold last night actually but has been warming up this morning and we are expecting temps to rise to ab out 7 or 8 degrees today. Clear skies this morning - bluebird! Talking about birds, lots of chirping going on noticeable recently - another sign of spring with us. Tomorrow similar conditions, though later in the day it's supposed to break down a bit and we might get some rain/sleet. Good bit of news. Maiko Snow Resort just outside of Yuzawa in Minamiuonuma has announced that they intend to remain open longer than originally planned. The original planned closing date was 31st March, but they're going to open the Gondola side of the resort on the following two weekends as well - so that's April 6th/7th and April 13th/14th. Weekdays from April 1st will remain closed, so just for the weekends. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here . Snow! Not a huge amount, but snow all the same. And definitely better than the rain that was falling last night. Yesterday got really warm - even up to around 16 degrees! Glad that it turned into snow and there's just a few cm on the ground in town areas and 5cm being reported by Gala Yuzawa and Kagura at higher elevations. Wind is strong in places and seems to be affecting Kagura with limited operations up there this morning. It's more than likely going to clear up by this afternoon with clearer skies forecast for this evening, another cold night and then lots of sun tomorrow with a high back up to around +6. For now, it's hovering around 0 degrees in Yuzawa.
