Nice to have a day of blue skies and no new snow weight on buildings and machines (looks like I've bent my container house used to store gear; it was the last thing on my list to get shoveled off, but I was a little late. Or overwhelmed). Another precipitation-free morning, so we're free to snowblow in pleasant conditions. Oh, and there's great snow on the hills, and buildings absolutely covered in snow (see photo from Akakara Onsen). Well, what I said yesterday ended up being wrong... this morning the ski area reports 97cm of new snowfall on upper areas, with two thirds of that coming overnight. There's a fair amount on the ground here too. Over 24m of snowfall this season up there. Just, wow. Anyway yeah it was windy yesterday with the snow and this morning it is less so but there's still a wind about. And it is still snowing. I am wary of saying it but the forecast doesn't show much for today and none for tomorrow, and perhaps even slightly warmer temps too. Courses open: All normal courses open. For the moment we have some cloud over us here, but the sun just starting to break through in lower areas. It feels like it is going to clear up. Sunshine is forecast for tomorrow and the day after and it will get slightly warmer (hopefully not too much). Lots of snow and some very fine conditions. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here . An early start today, cause I'm heading for the resort. A bit more snow overnight; it started up in the early hours and is coming down pretty heavily at the moment. Should taper off later. We hope (we need a break!). Warmer weather ahead, which will be helpful in settling the loose snow and clearing off overloaded roofs. There really are tons of snow just hanging up there waiting to come down. Which we can then plow up again. And again. And again. Yeah, we need a break in the snowfall! The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Morning from Madarao. More snow and some mixed changing weather this morning - the mix being snow, cloud and some sun trying to break through. We might well get some lovely sunny skies tomorrow. Unfortunately, Madarao is going to be closed tomorrow morning... as they deal with the electricity supply problem of the last few days. Hopefully they can get it sorted quickly. The plan for the moment is for closing to be in the morning, so perhaps they will be able to open later in the day. Tangram Ski Circus will be open and a free bus service will be available to take people in Madarao over there.
