Visibility is ranging from good to poor, depending on where you are. But I think the clouds are going to make way for some sunny skies today. Would be nice. Sun and pleasant conditions are expected tomorrow. Hakuba 47 is boasting 'Stiff morning!' on social media today. Well, that's the funny auto-translate, anyway. They are talking about some hard/crusty conditions early on. Ah, as much as I love posting these reports, I'm so looking forward to not having to check ski area official social media every morning come May. Even though I’m out on the Akakan golf course for the second of two cross-country races (and we’re talking about more than 400 competitors each day!). Nice to see the young people from the region coming out for some good competition, although I hope today without the cold wind and snow of yesterday. Makes it hard to write out the check lists of bib numbers. Wet paper and pencil holes.... And we did have snow pretty much throughout the day, with light snow still falling at the moment. Not a lot of accumulation, though; nothing on the roads, really, but about 7 cm on my car so that’s the official figure for today. Independent snow and weather reporting from the Madarao region of Nagano New snowfall at base 4cm Snowfall at base this season 1036cm Weather overview Cloud with blue sky Wind NW Temperature - Visibility Fair to good Posted on Monday 31st March 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Good morning from Madarao. So much for my 'post-season' rest... I have some fresh snow to report. Just under 5cm of it. I know Madarao is now closed, but Tangram is not... and it's still fresh snow for the 2024-2025 season, so needs to be reported/recorded! It also gives me the chance to let you know that Tangram has just the Number 3 quad lift operating for these last few days of the season. Varied weather lined up on forecasts. I'll let you know if there are any more cm of snow at base; if not, will post again as Tangram closes. Madarao Mountain Resort - Madarao is now closed for the season Tangram Ski Circus - Official snow depth: 120cm - Number 3 quad lift is scheduled to be operating - Planned closing date: Sunday 6th April Madarao Now 2024-2025 season Data as of Monday 31st March 2025 Total snowfall at base 1036cm Number of days snowfall observed at base 79 days Most snowfall observed in 1 day 42cm (on 18th February) November 2024 snowfall 19cm reported on 4 days December 2024 snowfall 320cm reported on 18 days January 2025 snowfall 243cm reported on 22 days February 2025 snowfall 338cm reported on 22 days March 2025 snowfall 116cm reported on 13 days Previous report Next report All snowfall data presented on this page is the snowfall measured and observed at base/town level by our reporter based in Madarao.
