SnowJapan first went online in 1999 as an independent project with the simple aim of sharing accurate English-language information about Japan's ski areas and winter sports. Since then, the site has grown considerably, but those same principles continue to guide everything we do.

Over the years, we have occasionally taken the opportunity to rethink and renew the site. This latest renewal is our most comprehensive to date. Every part of SnowJapan has been reviewed and refined from the ground up, with the goal of making the site simpler to use while providing more detailed and useful information than ever before. Achieving that balance has been our focus throughout the project.

Every aspect of the site has been carefully considered, and every significant change has been made for a reason. We have tried to simplify wherever possible, refine the focus, add greater detail, and remove content that no longer serves a useful purpose, allowing the new SnowJapan to concentrate on what matters most today.
