Takanbo is a small ski hill located within the boundaries of Nanto city in the south-western region of Toyama Prefecture.
Toyama Prefecture is in the Hokuriku region of central Japan, facing the Sea of Japan. Toyama is bordered by Ishikawa to the west, Gifu to the south and Nagano and Niigata to the east. The northern region is all Sea of Japan coastline. While the eastern region of Toyama along the border with Nagano Prefecture is home to impressive North Alps mountains, most of the mostly small ski hills within Toyama are actually located in the western region around Nanto.
