Fuyudorigoe Ski Garden is a very small ski area with a few T-bar lifts servicing the short courses. There used to be a ski lift but that has not been in use for many years.
Fuyudorigoe Ski Garden is located about 9km from the central area of Kamo city, to the south of Niigata city in Niigata Prefecture. Be sure to check out the old train carriage at the base. In summer part of the lift-less slopes are taken over by a pretty rose garden.
Niigata Prefecture is located in the central region of Honshu to the north of Tokyo and has a 250km long coastline facing the Sea of Japan. Convenient transportation links make Niigata very easy to get to from Tokyo and other surrounding regions. There are over 50 ski and snowboard resorts in Niigata Prefecture, ranging from small one-lift hills to some of the most well-known and popular ski resorts in Japan. While they are dotted around the mountains of the prefecture, most are concentrated in the southern regions - in particular the Yuzawa town and Minamiuonuma city area in the Chuetsu region and Myoko city in the Joetsu region.
