Saku Ski Garden Parada is located right next to - and connected with - the Sakudaira Smart IC exit and Parking Area of the Joshinetsu Expressway in Saku city, Nagano Prefecture. That is only from the north though... approaching from the south you need to get off the expressway at the next exit, Saku IC. It has two areas - the South (Minami) Area (by the Smart IC exit), and the North (Kita) area. Both have car parks and are connected by a free shuttle bus. The North Area is larger and considered the 'main area' by most.
Saku Ski Garden Parada has been operating since 1994.
Nagano Prefecture is located in the Chubu region of the main island of Honshu. Most of the Northern Alps, Central Alps and Southern Alps are located within Nagano (along with neighbouring prefectures). Nagano has the second highest number of ski and snowboard resorts in all of Japan and they are spread around the whole prefecture. Nagano city and many of the major ski resorts are located in the northern region.
Ski and snowboard lessons are available at Saku Ski Garden Parada.
