Nomugitoge is located on the southern slopes of Kohachimoriyama in western Nagano Prefecture. It is actually within Matsumoto city, but in a remote location to the south west of the central area of the city.
Nagano Prefecture is located in the Chubu region of the main island of Honshu. Most of the Northern Alps, Central Alps and Southern Alps are located within Nagano (along with neighbouring prefectures). Nagano has the second highest number of ski and snowboard resorts in all of Japan and they are spread around the whole prefecture. Nagano city and many of the major ski resorts are located in the northern region.
A shuttle bus is available from Matsumoto Station and takes about 75 minutes.
A bus or taxi from Shin Shimashima Station on the Kamikochi line takes about 30 minutes.

Nomugitoge is located in an area to the south west of Matsumoto city and to the west of Shiojiri city between Route 158 to the north and Route 19 to the south.
The ski resort information currently shown on SnowJapan is from the 2018-2019 season. Over the summer and autumn months we will be checking and then updating information. Everything will be updated online in time for the 2019-2020 winter season. Please note that planned ski resort opening dates are often very similar every year, so the dates from the 2018-2019 season can be taken as a good idea of what to expect next season.
