Hachi Kogen is located in the north-western region of Hyogo Prefecture, on the south-western slopes of Mt Hachibuse. It is connected with Hachi Kita Kogen at the top of the mountain and they share a common lift ticket. Hachi Kogen has been operating since 1964.
Hyogo Prefecture is located in the Kansai region of western Japan. It stretches the width of the country and has a coastline both on the Sea of Japan to the north and on the Seto Inland Sea to the south. Most of the ski and snowboard resorts in Hyogo Prefecture are located in the northern region of the Prefecture.

Direction
Hachi Kogen is about 25km from the Yokahyonosen IC exit of the Bantan Renraku Road.
From the IC exit turn left onto Route 9 and continue on that road for just under 11km. Turn left at the traffic lights onto Prefecture Road 87 (Hachibuse Kogen is on the main road signpost) and continue on this road for about 5.5km. At the big blue sign either turn right or continue straight on to get to the different base areas of the resort. Follow the signs to the car parks.
Parking
There are numerous car parks available by the base areas of Hachi Kogen. Parking is 1,000 yen or 1,800 yen depending on which car park is used. A parking 'season ticket' is available for 10,000 yen.
