Rusutsu Resort (often known as just Rusutsu) is located in Rusutsu village to the south east of Mt Yotei in the western region of Hokkaido. The resort is spread over three areas called West Mountain, East Mountain and Mt Isola. The famous Niseko ski and snowboard resorts in are about 30km from Rusutsu by road, on the opposite side of Mt Yotei. Fine views of Mt Yotei can be enjoyed on clearer days. Rusutsu has has been operating since 1972.

Hokkaido is the second largest island of Japan and also the largest and northernmost prefecture (though it is not usually referred to as a prefecture). It has coastlines on the Sea of Japan, the Sea of Okhotsk and also the Pacific Ocean. Sapporo is the capital city of Hokkaido and was host to the 1972 Winter Olympics. Hokkaido is home to the largest number of ski hills in Japan. While the majority of them are very small, some of the larger ski and snowboard resorts in Hokkaido - mostly found in regions to the west and east of Sapporo - are amongst the most famous in Japan.

A number of activities for children are available including the 'Crayon Shin-chan Hiroba' area. There are also 'Crayon Shin-chan' themed lessons and other activities.

The 'Sidecountry Park' area is by the Elite Course (West Mountain) and is usually open from early January until late February.

The 'Freedom Park' (East Mountain) features a variety of snow park items and is usually open from late December until late March.

Lift Ticket Information 2019-2020 Season lift tickets

The 6 Hour ticket is valid for six hours from the time of purchase.
The 4 Hour ticket is valid for four hours from the time of purchase.
Multiple day tickets include nighta on every day apart from the final day.

Cheaper one-day tickets are available for early skiing (until 6th December 2019) and spring skiing (from 16th March 2020).

The 'K Winter Pass' is a season ticket that covers four snow resorts in Hokkaido - Sapporo Teine, Rusutsu Resort, Sahoro Resort and Nakayamatoge.

There are three levels of the K Winter Pass ticket - Premium, Gold and Standard - each including varying discounts for ski school, rental for the ticket owner and friends and other stuff. The full price for the Standard ticket is 90,200 yen for adults; 65,300 yen for high school students and 53,500 yen for younger children. The most expensive Premium ticket costs 161,600 yen!

The nearest train station is Kutchan Station, about 31km from Rusutsu on the other side of Mt Yotei.

76.2km from the Sapporo Kita IC on the Sasson Expressway
Nearest national route: Route 230 (0.1km away)
Route 230 runs through the village and the ski lifts are found on both sides of that road.

The nearest exit of an expressway is Abuta Toyaki IC on the Hokkaido Expressway which is a 31km journey.

Sapporo Kita IC on the Sasson Expressway is 76km away.
