Nakayamatoge is located a short distance off the Nakayama Pass road about one hour drive to the south west of central Sapporo. In recent years Nakayamatoge has only opened in the early and late season periods, and is closed for most of the peak winter season months. In the past it was open throughout the winter. The planned season for the 2019-2020 season is from Sunday 17th November until Sunday 8th December 2019 and then from Wednesday 1st April until Sunday 10th May 2020. After that, it may remain open for longer on weekends depending on snow conditions.
Nakayamatoge is a small hill with just one pair lift but the park is popular in the spring season.
Hokkaido is the second largest island of Japan and also the largest and northernmost prefecture (though it is not usually referred to as a prefecture). It has coastlines on the Sea of Japan, the Sea of Okhotsk and also the Pacific Ocean. Sapporo is the capital city of Hokkaido and was host to the 1972 Winter Olympics. Hokkaido is home to the largest number of ski hills in Japan. While the majority of them are very small, some of the larger ski and snowboard resorts in Hokkaido - mostly found in regions to the west and east of Sapporo - are amongst the most famous in Japan.
There are three levels of the K Winter Pass ticket - Premium, Gold and Standard - each including varying discounts for ski school, rental for the ticket owner and friends and other stuff. The full price for the Standard ticket is 90,200 yen for adults; 65,300 yen for high school students and 53,500 yen for younger children. The most expensive Premium ticket costs 161,600 yen!
