Yawata Highland 191 Resort is located just by Route 191 in Kita Hiroshima city in the north-western region of Hiroshima Prefecture. Until 2010 it was known as Yawata Kogen 191.
Hiroshima Prefecture is in the Chugoku region of western Japan. The capital city, Hiroshima, is on the southern coastline by the Seto Inland Sea. The two main regions of Hiroshima Prefecture where most of the ski hills can be found are the north-western region around Kita Hiroshima town and the north-eastern region of Shobara city.

The 'Kids Snow Land' area is by the base and costs 1,000 yen for children and 500 yen for adults. The area features a snow escalator, an air dome, tubing and sledge area.
There is also a special kids course area and a nature area called 'Kids-no-mori' (Kids Forest) for playing in the snow.
