Kanita is a ski area located in Sotogahama Town on the Tsugaru Peninsula in Aomori Prefecture.

This small ski area had one rope tow lift and is primarily used by locals, mainly beginners and families with children. The ski area was by the side of Route 280 and only about 600m from the coastline.

Kanita was normally only open on weekends and national holidays. It used to be open for night skiing but in recent years it was only been open during the daytime.

Kanita was only able to open for 16 days during the 2022-2023 season (between the opening and closing dates) and only 225 people paid to use the rope tow lift.

Apparently, it was only available for school trips during the 2023-2024 winter season and it was then announced that it would be permanently closing.
