Inawashiro Resort is a ski area located on the southern slopes of Mt Bandai in Inwashiro Town in Fukushima Prefecture. It opened in 1985.
The ski area has a 1,730m 6-person gondola lift and four pair lifts. The south-facing slopes overlook the nearby Lake Inawashiro.
This ski area was known as Grand Sunpia Inawashiro Resort for a while before reverting back to just Inawashiro Resort.
Inawashiro Resort did not open for the 2019-2020 winter season and has been closed since then. The facilities remain in place, and it had been unclear if there was any chance of a revival. In December 2023, it was announced that a company had taken over the resort, and it seems like a revival might be possible. There are no specific details just yet.
This ski area is completely unrelated to the nearby ski area called Inawashiro.
