Hirata is a ski area located in the southern region of Sakata City in the northern area of Yamagata Prefecture.

This ski area has one surface lift and a gentle slope that is suitable for beginners.

Hirata Ski Area was operated by (and shared a website with) the nearby Matsuyama Ski Area, which has more challenging slopes.

These two small ski areas are both located within the Choukai-no-mori natural park facility.

In late 2024, Hirata disappeared from the shared website. Information regarding the current status of Hirata cannot be confirmed but it appears to have closed.
