Geto Kogen

Kitakami City

Iwate Prefecture

Geto Kogen is located in Iwate Prefecture, to the west of Kitakami City. This region is surrounded by beautiful forests and offers abundant onsen hot springs. Geto Kogen can be enjoyed by all skiers and snowboarders from beginners taking their first steps to families and experts alike. The resort features two gondolas, one quad lift and two pair lifts servicing the courses.

Geto Kogen: Need to know!

  • Expert 'Tree Run' areas

  • Leading Japanese resort for 'powder reset'

  • Reasonable 'skier beds' and natural 'onsen' hot springs facilities at base

  • Large-scale night skiing operations including Gondola operations

  • The 'ramen' noodles - quite possibly the best out there!

Tree Run Courses

The extensive tree run courses at Geto Kogen are cause for great excitement for us all, of course, but it is also a time to reflect on important safety issues.

Subject to conditions and safety checks, the courses will be opened after special checks are made daily by patrol from 9:30am until 2pm.

Riders entering the tree runs must wear helmets. Also we ask that charged mobile phones are taken and that the emergency contact telephone number is noted before entering the zones. Be aware that if an official search is requested, search costs will be incurred. We recommend that people ride together rather than individually for this and other safety reasons.

Before you enter!

  • Charged mobile telephone? - CHECK!

  • Noted emergency telephone no? - CHECK!

  • Helmet? - CHECK!

  • Protective equipment? - CHECK!

  • Confident of your riding ability? - CHECK!

In deep fresh snow conditions, snow shoes are also recommended (especially for snowboarders).

The resort cannot assume any responsibility for any accidents that occur in these areas. As such we ask that you please take into account your own skill level and take responsibility for your actions
