Hoshino Resorts TOMAMU

Shimukappu Village

Hokkaido

Hoshino Resorts TOMAMU is a famous all-year resort in the central region of Hokkaido, with easy access by train and bus from New Chitose Airport and the city of Sapporo.

The ski area, usually open from early December into early April, has a wide selection of runs suited to all levels, from beginner to expert skiers and snowboarders. Tomamu has family areas and parks with a 'magic carpet' for families with small children. There are ungroomed steep runs and one of Hokkaido's largest train parks for advanced riders. And there is a whole range of things to do besides skiing and snowboarding...

'Experts Only' Powder Area

Tomamu aims to realize a 'rope-free' ski area. Due to the specific landscape, this has not yet been realized, with some areas marked with ropes and "do not enter" signs. But all areas without those ropes or signs are yours to ride. To ride those off-the-course areas, guests must sign up at the Powder Area Registration Desk, where the ski resort staff inform you of the snow conditions of each area and hand you a bib. Please note that helmets are mandatory while skiing in the Experts Only Powder Area.

Terrain Park

Tomamu's terrain park is one of the largest in Hokkaido. With three areas for each level of riders, the most advanced park is the home ground for a former Olympian. With a pair lift running parallel to the park, there is no need to walk up the slope!

CAT & Backcountry Tours

Tomamu is surrounded by mountains and experiences cold conditions during the winter, with top-quality powder falling across the region. If you think you know how riding on deep, light powder snow feels, let the Powder Guides show you what real Japanese powder is like!

Adventure Mountain

Adventure Mountain is a family adventure area where various items and obstacles are placed. There are two distinct areas: NIPO MOUNTAIN carers for children trying to make their debut on the slopes and CHOKKARI MOUNTAIN is for those looking for more of a challenge!

Ice Village

For many who visit, the famous Ice Village is one of the off-the-slopes highlights of Tomamu during the winter season. Created with only snow and water, a village of ice appears for a limited period from January to March. There is an ice bar, ice restaurant, ice chapel, skate rink, an ice slide and more. This attraction is a unique feature you cannot find in other resorts.

GAO Outdoor Center

Skiing and snowboarding is not the only way to have fun with the snow. GAO Outdoor Center offers various winter activities for guests of all ages. Snowmobile riding is a popular activity in Hokkaido, but only Tomamu has a 10km course within the resort area! Enjoy cross-country skiing in the morning, followed by a specially made breakfast... have fun with the kids with sleds or banana boats... Explore the snow-covered forest in snow shoes...

MINA-MINA Beach

Tomamu has one of Japan's largest indoor wave pools! No matter how cold it gets outside, this beach is kept at a pleasingly warm temperature. The kid's pool is filled with play items to amuse children, and there is a jet spa for adults. The word "mina" means "smile" in the old local language. This beach is always filled with smiles and laughter!

Hotels

There is a wide selection of accommodation available within the resort including Tomamu The Tower and RISONARE Tomamu.
