Ryugon is a traditional Japanese-style ryokan located in Muikamachi Onsen in Minamiuonuma city, Niigata prefecture.

From over 250 years ago, samurai and then farmers have lived in this place and it was made into a ryokan about 50 years ago.

If you want to experience a very traditional 'Snow Country' stay during your time in Japan, Ryugon is probably just what you are looking for - traditional buildings, architecture and furnishings with an authentic historical and cultural feel. The onsen hot springs as well as the Japanese gardens offer a calm space to relax and enjoy some precious moments.

Ryugon is close to the centre of Muikamachi (just to the north of Yuzawa town) and and while it is set just off a main road, once you enter the main gates you are taken into a completely different world and era.
