Comments from some of our guests
Arriving at Hakuba, I first drove to my hotel called Hakuba Hifumi, a japanese styled Hotel. I was really excited, as I had never been before to a japanese Ryokan. Entering the hotel , I was warmly welcomed and I was impressed of the cozy atmosphere the reception and lobby had.
After checking in, I was showed to my room. One of the "special rooms" this ryokan offered - as you can choose between a normal room and a special - and it was more spacious and with it's own Rotenburo Onsen.
Entering it I found myself in the "living room" with tatami mats and a typical Japanese table. I also thought that the unique smell was very nice. The room really had a great atmosphere. I continued to the dormitory, and then to the bathroom.
From the bathroom you had access to the balkony, where I saw an Onsen for the first time. After a while I entered it and it was a great experience ,as you where;outside“ and smelled nature and saw the snow falling.
After relaxing in the bath, I went to dinner. Japanese styled dinner was served and it was absolutely delicious. There were so many different dishes and every single one individually prepared and on separate, beautiful japanese plates.
There was such a relaxing atmosphere everywhere in the hotel.
The next morning, I went to eat breakfast, which you could choose between Western style and Japanese styled breakfast. I decided on the Japanese style, and I'm glad I did. Although I usually don‘t really eat breakfast I wanted to try it this time. There were again so many delicious plates.
Staying at Hakuba Hifumi you will never get tired of the food as everyday you will be served another special menu.
After breakfast, I took a walk around town and contemplated the beautiful white scenery. Sometimes you already saw some snowboarders or skiers getting ready for the day.
