Good morning from Niseko. It's a beauty too!

It is (still) snowing and I have another 12cm of snowfall to add to this report.

12cm super lovely snow to report this morning. It wasn't snowing a little earlier, but there are some lovely flakes falling just now, along with a bit of sun shining through too.

I am pleased to report more fresh snow again this morning. This morning my measurement (24 hours since 8:30am yesterday) was 16cm. Very nice.

As of 8:30am I had measured another 24cm of snowfall on top of what we got on the previous report.

What a morning it is. This is pretty amazing.

Up to 8:30am, I measured a respectable 16cm of fresh snowfall and it is still snowing now. Limited visibility out there.

It is the first day of the early January long weekend - Monday is Coming of Age Day and a national holiday - and traditionally it is a busy one for Japanese ski areas.

It has, of course, been a very sobering start to the year for Japan.

A part of the 2cm I am reporting this morning has come down early morning as there wasn't much overnight when I got up and it is snowing rather nicely as I write this and it doesn't seem windy.
