New snowfall at base 3cm
Snowfall at base this season 549cm

Good morning from Zao.

Snow is back this morning with a few cm on the ground and more falling as I write this; hopefully it will build up more during the day. Regular snow is forecast for todaty and tomorrow and then once again late weekend - which may bring us some decent numbers. Forecast as it current is, of course.

There was an incident yesterday with two boarders needing to be rescued. This is all hear-say but I believe the search apparently involved helicopters and a fair number of ski patrol and other folk. Stay safe out there.

All snowfall data presented on this page is the snowfall measured and observed at base/town level by our reporter based in Zao Onsen. The 'new snowfall' number represents the amount of snow measured since the previous report. All opinions are those of the individual reporters. Information regarding ski area operations is manually checked every morning and is believed to be correct at the time of the report.
