That's it folks!

Yesterday (2nd May) ended up being the last day of the ski season here in Zao Onsen.

There just wasn't enough snow left up there on Chuo to continue on until Sunday as planned.

(Today isn't very nice anyway with very poor visibility and rain too).

The Ropeways continue to be open of course (they are all year) but it is for sightseeing - not for skiing and boarding.

In the meantime, thank you for reading!

All snowfall data presented on this page is the snowfall measured and observed at base/town level by our reporter based in Zao Onsen. The 'new snowfall' number represents the amount of snow measured since the previous report. All opinions are those of the individual reporters. Information regarding ski area operations is manually checked every morning and is believed to be correct at the time of the report.
