Independent snow and weather reporting from the Zao region of Yamagata

New snowfall at base 3cm
Snowfall at base this season 173cm

Posted on Tuesday 26th December 2017 This is an archived report. The latest Zao Now report can be found here.

Stormy conditions again this morning in Zao with snow falling, strong winds blowing and generally very poor visibility.

The wind stopped lifts yesterday and we might well see more of that today.

We are set for this kind of conditions to be with us for a few days now so the main hope is that we get a lot of snow out of it.

If you are going to get out on the skis or board, be certain to know where you are going and take extra care.
