Late last night there was the sound of heavy rain and strong winds outside and a temperature of +7C as of midnight. Didn't sound like a particularly good way to start the weekend!

I'm glad to say that things have calmed down since then and it's just a cloudy morning here in Yuzawa. The roads seem to be mostly dried up.

Cloud, but some areas showing some blue sky. To the south of the main town area it looks like it is nice and sunny over Naeba and perhaps we can expect the clouds to clear up here over town as well as the day progresses.

At the moment it is 5 degrees in town with a high of around 8-9 degrees forecast for the day.

A real mixed bag on the forecasts, difficult to know how the weekend will turn out. Tomorrow take your choice from light snow showers, sleet, rain, sun and cloud. It does seem to be that later tomorrow into Monday will get colder than it has been but probably warm up again after that so just a short term dip in temps.
