New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this seas 892cm
Posted on Saturday 7th March 2026 This is an archived report. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here.
Good morning from Yuzawa.
It did end up being quite windy yesterday.
I was woken up by the sound of rain early this morning, but thankfully it has now turned into snow.
Just a dusting so far down in town, but there is some snow on trees and I feel justified in representing that with 1cm added to this report. Currently just under 1C.
There has been at least a few cm of fresh snow as you go a bit higher. We can see a covering of snow on the Gala webcams (see below), 5-10cm perhaps, and Kagura is actually reporting 10cm of fresh snow this morning.
We are told to expect some kind of mix of sleet/snow for much of today, and snow overnight into tomorrow.
Come on!!!
Some lower town-level slopes have been getting increasingly 'patchy' looking with some ground starting to show, so a fresh covering would be most welcome.
I will of course let you know what we end up with tomorrow morning.
(There are some lift restrictions again at Kagura this morning due to wind, with the Kagura Tashiro connecting course closed; but both Ropeway bases are open).
