An early report this morning.
We had beautiful weather yesterday with clear blue skies and sunshine. It got very mild in the afternoon, though, approaching +6C in town mid-afternoon.
Today will likely be quite similar to yesterday with sunshine expected and perhaps even slightly warmer temps by this afternoon.
Bit too warm.
Come Friday it should start getting a bit colder again, which is good, and all being well there will be a fresh layer of snow as the weekend starts. As forecasts stand right now, we should be having a cold and snowy weekend, so keep that in mind if you are visiting. Quite how much snow to expect... unclear.
Good news from GALA Yuzawa ski area – their Southern Area is scheduled to open this morning for the first time this season. The Eliza, Batman and Bronco B courses should be open. It has taken a while as we waited for enough snow and the required preparations to be made, but it’s really good to see it opening at last. The Landau Ropeway connecting that Southern Area with Yuzawa Kogen should also be open today.
