Yesterday did indeed end up being a wet day out there. Rain. Even higher up on the mountains it seems and you can see how the snow depth numbers have for the most part taken a dip today... the rain without doubt didn't do the slopes any favours.
This morning we had a dusting of new snow and up to 5cm higher up. Definitely colder this morning but hovering around 0C so still relatively mild for the time of year. It is generally cloudy around town at the moment and seems to be wanting to try to snow lower down and snow falling on the mountains now - fairly poor visibility higher up too at the moment.
The snow clouds should be with us until the end of the week. We have had a few decent snowfalls this season so far but not a consistent long lasting storm really, leaving us with less snow than this time last year. Hopefully early January will bring us one of those famous Niigata storms.
Will be back tomorrow with the first report of 2013. Have a good one.
