Excellent news this morning with snow coming down in true Yuzawa style.

It didn't feel quite so excellent yesterday evening. After some fine weather during the day, we got rained on, but it thankfully quite quickly turned into snow and apparently has been snowing all night.

Here's how much fresh snowfall ski areas are reporting this morning:

- Kagura: 60cm

- Naeba: 40cm

- Yuzawa Kogen: 40cm

- Maiko: 50cm

- Ishiuchi: 40cm

At our measuring point there is 41cm, with just under 25cm to the south in the Shiozawa area of Minamiuonuma.

Now this feels more like normal! And with more due over the next few days, conditions are set to get a significant boost.

Brilliant.

Let's see how long it can continue.

The Tashiro Area of Kagura is closed today but other ski areas appear to be opening as planned.
