Independent snow and weather reporting from the Yuzawa & Minamiuonuma region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this seas 90cm

Posted on Thursday 29th December 2022 This is an archived report. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here.

Good morning from Yuzawa.

Yesterday was a beautiful day and it felt quite warm out there.

We have had some light (kind of wet) snowfall early morning, just 1-2cm in places, and light snow is falling now.

It is supposed to get heavier later on/tonight and into tomorrow.

Some more lifts and runs are opening up as the ski areas do their best to be as open as possible for the busy New Year holidays. A good new layer of snow would be very welcome to further help them - and delight us, of course.

Fingers crossed!
