Independent snow and weather reporting from the Yuzawa & Minamiuonuma region of Niigata
New snowfall at base 31cm
Snowfall at base this seas 500cm
Posted on Saturday 28th January 2023 This is an archived report. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here.
Yesterday it got bright at times but it didn't clear up like it did on Thursday with an overcast feel for a large part of the day. And then it started snowing again.
This morning Kagura are reporting an impressive 70cm of snow since yesterday and Maiko Snow Resort are reporting a fresh 40cm.
As of 8:30am we have measured 32cm in town and it is still snowing. Currently -3.5C in town. More snow is expected through today and possibly into tomorrow morning.
Good news from Iwappara - their top quad is scheduled to be open from today again with a few of the top courses available again.
It looks like the connecting course between Tashiro and Kagura and the top pair lift at Kagura are going to be closed for the day today due to weather/conditions.
Other than that, it's snowy and visibility might be limited, but snow conditions should be very good. This particular snow should ease off tomorrow and some forecasts show the chance of a bit of sun too.
