Good morning from Yuzawa.

It got pretty hot yesterday afternoon, up to around 29C in town.

Today will be warm but probably won't get as hot and will be remain mainly cloudy.

There are some changes at Kagura from this morning. With snow melting away, the Mitsumata Area is now effectively closed for skiing/snowboarding, and a bit of walking is involved to get between back from the main Kagura Area. Here's how it works.

From Kagura Area back to Mitsumata:

- ski/snowboard down to the base station of the Kagura Gondola

- ride the Mitsumata Number 2 pair lift next to the base station of the Kagura Gondola

- walk about 170m to the top of the Mitsumata Number 1 quad lift

- ride the quad lift down

- walk about 230m to the top of the Mitsumata Ropeway

- ride the Mitsumata Ropeway down to the base/car park

Staff can help take your gear from the gondola station over to Mitsumata.

It will be interesting to see if the Tashiro Area can remain open until 6th May... but, as of this morning, nothing to report on that. Will let you know if there is any change to plans.

Today is the start of the famous 'Golden Week' period in Japan. Monday (29th April) is a national holiday, as is Friday (3rd May) and Monday (6th May) next week.
