Independent snow and weather reporting from the Yuzawa & Minamiuonuma region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 9cm
Snowfall at base this seas 1092cm

Posted on Thursday 25th February 2021 This is an archived report. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here.

More incoming fresh snow yesterday and overnight, measuring 9cm in total.

Here's how much fresh snowfall ski areas are reporting this morning:

Kagura: 10cm

Ishiuchi Maruyama: 10cm

Maiko Snow Report: 10cm

Iwappara: 5cm

Naeba: 5cm

Early morning there has been a lot of cloud around but it is becoming brighter and there are some breaks in the cloud with blue sky starting to appear in places. We are expecting a calm day of clearer skies and sunshine. It has been a chilly start, but thankfully it won't be warming up as much as last weekend - probably to a high of around 2-3C in town.

For the moment the forecast for tomorrow is generally cloudy, with a chance of some (light) snowfall overnight into Saturday. That would be a good start to the weekend...
