The trees outside look lovely. A few cm of snow is hanging on the branches, and the sun is shining on them.
All well and good, but, of course, here in Yuzawa and the wider region, we are used to masses of snow completely covering them. And hopefully, this weekend is when we (at last) start to get our snow.
For now, it's sunny. But, by tonight, all being well, it will be snowing. And it should be snowing - hopefully heavily - over the weekend.
There is some news I so don't want to have to report. Our report yesterday was quickly updated with news that Yuzawa Kogen managed to open a few ski runs. Unfortunately, due to our snow situation, they cannot continue with that today. (The Ropeway is open for sightseeing only).
I can't wait to bring you news of Yuzawa-like snow! When it does arrive, expect a frenzy of activity from ski areas eager to open up.
