Good morning from Yuzawa.
It's about 8C in town and mostly cloudy with some blue sky.
The news of the day is that Kagura has delayed opening. The decision was made yesterday that there is not enough snow to open as planned on Saturday (23rd). There is still snow on the main slope, as you can see below. Just not enough.
So Kagura ski area is now in 'stand-by mode'. It will open as soon as there is enough snow.
More snow is due on the mountains from later on today and tomorrow, so let's see if that might be enough to get things moving. (There's not much chance of snow forecast for the days beyond Sunday).
It looks like we might just get rained on down at town level tomorrow.
