Light snow yesterday, but it started to really change in the evening as it started to get dark. About 5cm of snow had built up on my car in about 90 minutes yesterday evening and this morning there's probably around 30cm of new snow around town. Resorts around town are reporting some nice new numbers as well. The headline as often is the case being Kagura who are boasting 50-60cm of new snow. Other resorts in town are seeing jumps in snow depth numbers of up to 40cm. So it's safe to say that there's a good thick new layer of snow out on the slopes this morning.
Limited visibility especially as you get higher up the mountains, but not too bad at resorts around town. The main Route 17 has a layer of snow on it as traffic moves at a fairly slow pace and the snow moving machines get to work.
It is still snowing now and remaining cold, currently about -4 degrees and it'll probably stay around that level for the day. Snow might ease off later, and tomorrow may even start with clearer skies, but another cold front is due to deliver more snow tomorrow and snow is expected to be falling over Saturday and Sunday as well.
A snowy and cold weekend is on the way.
