Independent snow and weather reporting from the Yuzawa & Minamiuonuma region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 15cm
Snowfall at base this season 310cm

Posted on Tuesday 14th January 2014 This is an archived report. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here.

It was snowing yesterday for most of the day, easing off in the evening and when I was out shovelling snow last night it looked like the skies were fairly clear.

We are back to light snow falling this morning and the mountains covered in cloud. There was about 15cm of snow since my report yesterday. Resorts around the towns seem to be reporting 5-10cm overnight.

The local forecast tell us to expect the day to end up just cloudy, and keeping cold, to be followed by a sunny day tomorrow.

After the busy weekend at many places, it's back to a normal weekday so feels much quieter this morning around town. For those that are here, great snow conditions to enjoy.
