Independent snow and weather reporting from the Yuzawa & Minamiuonuma region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 2cm
Snowfall at base this seas 484cm

Posted on Sunday 12th January 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here.

The early morning snowfall yesterday eased up fairly soon after the report, with about 2cm to add to this report from that.

During the day we got some blue sky and sun, particularly mid- to late morning. The afternoon remained bright and sunny at times, and before evening arrived it was largely cloudy once again. It was a relatively mild day with temperatures rising a few above zero in town.

We were told to expect some sunny skies today but forecasts seem to have adjusted and we have cloud cover early on. Weather conditions have been quite changeable in recent days, so who knows what we will end up during the day.
