Independent snow and weather reporting from the Shiga Kogen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 2cm
Snowfall at base this season 1017cm

Posted on Tuesday 7th March 2017 This is an archived report. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here.

Morning from Shiga Kogen.

Just a few cm of snow this morning. There's a lot of cloud around but just as I write this there's actually a bit of sun shining through the clouds in places. And a few patches of blue sky to see. But at the same time, it's snowing. So a real mixed bag of weather conditions this morning.

Snow is what is on the forecasts for the next few days, so perhaps it'll set in and I'll have some decent numbers to report over the next few days.
