Independent snow and weather reporting from the Shiga Kogen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 8cm
Snowfall at base this season 448cm

Posted on Sunday 7th January 2018 This is an archived report. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here.

Hello from Shiga Kogen.

It is snowing this morning, and I have measured 8cm to add to the reports. Actually snowing quite heavily right now in Maruike, though it is fine snow rather than big fluffy flakes. Looks a little windy as well for the moment.

Snow isn't expected to last long today though with clearer skies possible later on.

Still hoping we will avoid the rain that lower elevations seem destined to get tomorrow. Straight into snow should be good. But do expect milder than usual conditions tomorrow.

Second day of the busy long weekend. Have fun!
