Independent snow and weather reporting from the Shiga Kogen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 2cm
Snowfall at base this season 27cm

Posted on Saturday 7th December 2019 This is an archived report. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here.

Morning.

Some fresh snow since my last report but not a whole lot. I am logging 2cm, Kumanoyu are reporting 5cm.

So while we do not have huge amounts of snow yet, more of Shiga Kogen is opening for the weekend - including parts of Yakebitaiyama and Yokoteyama, and expanded areas of Kumanoyu

I'm looking at the forecast and for the moment it seems to be showing more sun than snow over the next week; along with some milder conditions early in the week. So we can't realistically expect much more fresh snow support until at least later in the coming week.

The important thing now - before more snow comes - is for things to keep cold so we can enjoy what we have.

These areas are currently part open:

- Ichinose Family: Number 2 pair lift A line operating

- Ichinose Diamond: Diamond quad lift

- Kumanoyu: Number 2 pair lift A & B line operating

- Takamagahara Mammoth: Number 2 triple lift operating

- Yakebitaiyama: Number 4 romance lift

- Yokoteyama: Number 1 Sky A line and Number 5 lift operating

Other areas of Shiga Kogen are closed.
