Independent snow and weather reporting from the Shiga Kogen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 5cm
Snowfall at base this season 242cm

Posted on Wednesday 29th December 2021 This is an archived report. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here.

Yesterday the clouds cleared up during the day leaving us with some fine weather in the afternoon.

It's keeping cold but the sun is out this morning. Another calm before the storm kind of days as snow is due by tomorrow morning and at times it might get pretty wild once again. Hopefully not too much in terms of wind.

For now though, it's a lovely morning and the snow is in great shape.

I cant recall if I mentioned this before, but over the green season the quad lift at Hoppo Bunadaira was replaced by a gondola lift. This new gondola at Bunadaira is cunningly called the Bundadaira Gondola!
