Independent snow and weather reporting from the Shiga Kogen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this season 542cm

Posted on Monday 21st March 2016 This is an archived report. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here.

Morning from Shiga Kogen and there's 1cm of snow to report and light snow was still falling earlier on, but has eased off now. Leaving us with just mainly cloud for the moment and hints of blue sky in places.

Sunny skies are forecast for tomorrow and perhaps temperatures might hover around zero during the day, but the forecast still teases us with the prospect of some potentially decent snowfall come Wednesday night and through into the weekend. Let's hope it is more than just a tease!

Today is the last day of the long 3-day weekend here in Japan, so there's more people around than usual... but it should start getting quieter by this afternoon.
