Morning from Shiga Kogen.
A little light snow falling earlier on, but that has cleared up for now and while there is still cloud around - more in some places than others - there's an increasing amount of blue sky and the sun is out.
Just a slight cover of snow to report, but it's keeping cold and conditions should be really great this morning. I know where I'm going.
Good questions asked: "How can Sun Valley have an official snow depth of only 110cm, and the fairly close-by Nishitateyama be on 300cm?"
I'm not the one to answer that - in fact I'd love to know myself! I'm just passing on what they put out there. Sun Valley always seems silly low, especially after we enjoy heavy snowfall over a few days and it doesn't move.
I don't take much notice of the official snow depths for a bunch of reasons.
The most important number to me is how much fresh snow has been falling over the last few days.
