More snow this morning. It's really coming down here in Maruike as I write this. Heavy snow, moderately strong winds and visibility very poor. What this means is that we have had a really good amount of fresh snow this week. It takes a lot for some of the resorts around Shiga Kogen to change their snow depth numbers, and so with some of the big increases recently you can really believe that they had a good new amount of snow. How much since yesterday? Difficult to put a number on it because the wind has been blowing around but at least 20cm perhaps much more in places and it doesn't look like it wants to hold off yet either.
Taking a look outside now it's almost complete whiteout conditions.
Looks like Shibutoge and Higashitateyama are closed due to the conditions ast the moment with a few more lifts no doubt on reduced speed operations.
After this snow storm has passed, clear conditions are forecast for the weekend and into next week.
Weekenders should be very happy with what they get to play in tomorrow.
