As I write this report, the sun is out, it's warm, and more importantly the Shibutoge ski lift has another hour or so left to go and once that stops moving that is the official end of the ski season here in Shiga Kogen.... a season that started way back on 18th November 2014.
I make that pretty much 6 months ago!
The last few months of the spring season always seems long but after today the next ski action will be in another 6 months... hopefully around mid-late November once again.
So that's it then.
It has been a good season I think; I could certainly enjoy lots of days with very fine powder conditions. I'll have to go back and re-read all my reports again to refresh my own memory and remember the details though. All of the archive reports from Shiga Kogen - and all of the other Now daily reports on SnowJapan - are always there, so you can go and take a look back at the season and indeed previous seasons as well. Links to the archives can be found at the bottom of this page. They're great for research and trying to work out 'the best time' to visit. It's not an easy one to answer, and I'll leave it up to you to see how each season has gone in recent years.
