Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 42cm
Snowfall at base this season 324cm

Posted on Monday 12th January 2026 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

It is a very good morning from Nozawa.

Tons of fresh snow and a clearing of the skies early on too. Also, less wind!

So the ski area has reporting up to 65cm of snowy goodness up at Yamabiko; not reporting yet from base areas but my own measurement was 42cm. Nice.

Should be fab conditions for everyone heading out this morning.
