Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 4cm
Snowfall at base this season 680cm

Posted on Thursday 12th February 2026 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

Hello from Nozawa Onsen.

This morning we have sunshine, blue sky and some cloud. Good visibility. Not much wind. A fine morning.

The ski area is reporting up to 13cm of snow on upper areas (though curiously just 2cm at Yamabiko).

The region is going to 'enjoy' (discuss!) some milder conditions along with probably a lot of sunshine through the end of the weekend.

Temps looks set to drop back down to something more like mid-winter mode from Monday.
