Independent snow and weather reporting from the Niseko region of Hokkaido

New snowfall at base 0cm
Snowfall at base this season 686cm

Posted on Friday 7th April 2017 This is an archived report. The latest Niseko Now report can be found here

Unfortunately, it did rain yesterday evening and I believe through the night but it is not raining just now.

So what's up this morning...

Fog is the main thing. Not much to see at all this morning with thick fog swirling around (does fog swirl?), but the forecast does actually have some sun coming out this afternoon.

The fog (and wind, apparently) is going to stop the top King Number 4 lift from opening at the start of the day today at Niseko Grand Hirafu.

Sunday onwards it looks like we can expect lots of sunshine and mild conditions, warming up towards mid-week.
