Good morning from Niseko.
And what a really beautiful Monday morning it is, too.
We don't get many days like this here. Blue skies, sunny, good and cold... stunning!
Making it even better is the 20cm or so of fresh snow since yesterday.
Last night I can't remember expecting such weather this morning, but... thank you. Today is indeed a very good day to be here and there are going to be a lot of excited people out there today. Let's appreciating with safety heart.
(Tomorrow might be sunny too, with the next snow due later in the week).

Niseko Avalanche Report
Mountain base: -9℃, 20cm snowfall and calm. Moiwa 800m: -10.5℃, 20cm snowfall, snowdrift accumulation, good visibility. Mikaeri 764m: -13℃, light wind, good visibility, snowdrifts development. Annupuri 1000m: -11.7℃, N4m/s. Village 1000m: -10.6℃, N4.5m/s. Hirafu Hanazono 1000m: -11.1℃, E54.5m/s. Hanazono#3: -9.1℃, calm. Coastal data: Benkei cape calm, Kamui cape E5m/s, 1025hPa, 0.6m waves.
The atmospheric pressure gradient is flat. Calm morning at sea and the mountains. Good visibility. Looking at this morning's observations and weather data, the avalanche risk is low. All gates are scheduled to open. Seek the ski patrol’s advice at the gates. Outside the gate is not the resort anymore. If you blindly follow someone else’s track, you might get lost or fall in the creek. One injury could ruin your vacation. Please have a read through the Niseko Rules flyer, these should be available at the ticket office or hotel receptions. Again, the area outside the gate is not the resort anymore. It is not mandatory to carry avalanche rescue gear, however it is highly recommended to do so. It may save your life, as well as your buddies’ too. The mountain will be crowded today, don’t stay at the bottom of the gullies, and be careful not to trigger a slide at the top of a slope. The snow condition is fantastic. Have a nice day.
