Independent snow and weather reporting from the Niseko region of Hokkaido

New snowfall at base 9cm
Snowfall at base this season 107cm

Posted on Sunday 5th December 2021 This is an archived report. The latest Niseko Now report can be found here

Good morning to you from Niseko.

This morning I have 9cm of lovely fresh snowfall to report. It is a cold morning too so conditions should be fairly decent. I have not been out there myself to give you a first hand report, but things seem... quiet.

As I am writing this the snow has started to fall at a faster rate which is good to see. Keep going please!

We have seen it coming on the forecasts but the coming week is still looking very likely to bring us some mild temperatures and a mostly dry spell. And maybe quite a lot of sunshine too.

Note that while the base Number 1 lift at Hanazono is moving, the available terrain is above the top station of that lift (Yotei Sunset and... Mango Salad).
